There’s nothing better than a Philly band playing a Philly record store — especially when it’s an act we haven’t seen around town in awhile. Louie Louie‘s last hometown appearance was at Spruce Street Harbor Park when the weather was still warm, and after a short break the band is back with a new lineup and new songs — they’re playing Beautiful World Syndicate tonight; Myrrias will also perform. Louie Louie released their debut LP Friend of a Stranger in January, and it’s full of the band’s otherworldly retro pop sound that makes them standouts in the scene. Watch “After Me” from the band’s Key Studio Session below and find more information on the event here.

Philly-slash-Central PA dream-pop quartet Sea Offs bring their smooth and infectious sound to Kung Fu Necktie tonight, playing a stacked lineup that also includes Hat & Boots, Ghost Girl and Eliza Edens. Sea Offs have been around for a few years, and after releasing their first full-length What’s the Point? earlier this year, they were featured in our Items Tagged Philadelphia series and recently joined us for a Key Studio Session — stream that below. Find tickets and more information on tonight’s show on the XPN Concert Calendar.

Patterson Hood of Drive-By Truckers fame is on the road touring solo, with a stop tonight at the Sellersville Theater. If you caught Drive-By Truckers’ high-spirited set at XPN Fest this past summer, you can expect a slowed-down but no less energetic and robust sound from Hood’s solo work. The singer-songwriter hasn’t released a solo album since 2012, but this show could be a preview of what’s next for Hood. Drive-By Truckers’ latest release is 2016’s American Band. Find tickets and more information on tonight’s show on the XPN Concert Calendar.
