English electronic duo The Orb bring their 25th anniversary tour to The Trocadero tonight.  Bandmates Alex Paterson and Martin “Youth” Glover have marked the quarter-century milestone with a new album called More Tales from the Orbservatory, released on Cooking Vinyl this past June.  The album matches the auditory structure of earlier releases, synching European-sounding house music with vocal samples that are usually spoken rather than sung.  Tickets and information for tonight’s show can be found here.  Watch a live video of The Orb performing “Little Fluffy Clouds” below.

In Wilmington, XPN welcomes the James Hunter Six to World Cafe Live at The Queen.  The Essex, England native got his start playing the pubs of London, drawing the attention of Van Morrison which led to a working partnership through the nineties.  Hunter and his band released their latest R&B / soul record Minute by Minute in February on Universal – get a free download of the title track below and check out Hunter’s March Free at Noon Performance here.  Tickets and information for tonight’s show can be found here.

XPN welcomes listener favorite Diego Garcia to World Cafe Live tonight.  The Latin-influenced singer / songwriter is touring to support his sophomore solo record Paradise, released this month and following up 2011′s critically acclaimed Laura.  Garcia’s storytelling is still at the forefront of his music, though the production on Paradise adds a dreamlike haze to the realistically vivid lyrics.  Tickets and information for the all-ages show with Arc Iris can be found here.  Below, watch an interview with Garcia on Paradise.
